Computer networks for home and office can be built by using either wired or wireless technology. The two kinds of solution have its individual advantage. Wired cable (also called Lan cable) has been the traditional choice in many places. It is an indispensable component for connecting computing devices together directly. It is used to connect from a computer or similar device to a network switch, hub or router. Wired LANs use Ethernet cables and network adapters. If you are using a power-line adapter, be sure the Lan cables are connected to both adapters, and both are plugged into the wall.
